4) Occupation: Visiting Assistant Professor (of Geology), Washington and Lee University


5) Goals for 2010: My main goal for the year is to stay healthy and to build my fitness to the level that I can make my ninth national mountain running team.

6) Notable achievements/memories/PR’s in your sport: 8 national mountain running teams, 3-time USATF mountain runner of the year,

7) Favorite inov-8 gear: For racing, I like the X-Talon 212 and the F-Lite 230; for training, my current favorite is the F-Lite 320 PK

8) List one thing others may not know about you: I have performed at Carnegie Hall.

9) Favorite energy drink/food: Isn’t the point of all food to deliver energy?

10) Your favorite race and why? My favorite race is the Barr Trail Mountain Race. It has everything that a good race needs: a great course, unparalleled organization, and a prize structure that attracts a quality field every year. It was also my first big mountain/trail race win- so that helps make is a favorite as well.

11) Advice to other athletes: Run only in beautiful places.
