Jonathan Basham

1) Primary sport(s): Ultrarunning

2) Team member since: 2005

3) City/state of residence: Allentown, PA

4) Occupation: Finish Carpenter

5) Goals for 2010: CR @ Mt. Mitchell Challenge; Complete the Barkley 100, run @least 1 new ultra, complete my 12th MMTR 50, stay healthy and fit. More goals will present themselves as the year progresses.

6) Notable achievements/memories/PR’s in your sport:
Current supported speed record holder for Vermont’s Long Trail, previous supported speed record holder of the Colorado Trail,

7) Favorite inov-8 gear: roclite 312 GTX, 318 GTX, race pro 12 pack

8) List one thing others may not know about you: I’m a wannabe professional big mountain snowboarder

9) Favorite energy drink/food: I have been successful using Nuun tablets during races and Ultragen Recovery drink from First Endurance.

10) Your favorite race and why? The Mountain Masochists 50 Mile Trail Run in Virginia. Although this was my second ultra 12 years ago, MMTR is really where it all started for me. For me, the MMTR is more about camaraderie and experiencing autumn in Virginia as opposed to running a fast race.

11) Advice to other athletes: Be consistently active year round, yet take breaks and rest the mind and body. Try new activities and incorporate cross-training into your schedule. Practice yoga regularly; your body will love you for it!
